Our story
croit was founded in January 2017 by Martin Verges, Matthias Grandl and Paul Emmerich with a common goal: To integrate the extensive knowledge gained from more than five years of Ceph operation into a standardized software solution so that other companies and administrators can also use Ceph storage in a stable, simple and reliable way.
Ceph is a development that was originally initiated by Sage Weil and is now part of the Ceph Foundation co-founded by croit. Today croit is an active Ceph community member and a young company developing one of the most sophisticated management solutions for unified software-defined storage solutions based on Ceph and DAOS.
Our storage management software benefits hundreds of customers worldwide, from small and medium-sized businesses to global corporations. Besides our core product, we offer our customers hardware, consulting, support, and training. And we have several new projects in our pipeline dealing with topics like virtualization and containerization.
As of now, the company is completely privately owned by Martin Verges, Matthias Grandl and Andy Muthmann. There are no dependencies on other companies, no debts and no outside capital. Thanks to a solid economy and year-over-year growth of over 100%, we are happy to keep it that way.
